A process server is an individual responsible for personally delivering legal documents to a person or business involved in a court case. The recipient of these documents may be identified as the defendant, plaintiff, accused, respondent or a witness. The documents, in most cases, must be served personally and in some cases require confirmation by way of a signature. Once the documents are successfully delivered, the process server must provide a formal confirmation known as an affidavit of service. This affidavit is signed in the presence of an authorised witness, such as a Justice of the Peace or Lawyer. It's important to note that the rules governing process serving can vary between states, depending on the jurisdiction of the legal documents and the party being served.

Once identity is confirmed, legal documents can be served by leaving them at the person's feet and informing them of the documents' nature. If identity confirmation is refused, we can verify the party using photographic evidence before leaving documents nearby.

Unlike standard couriers who make three identical drop-in visits, Code Nine conducts operational briefings between attempts. We vary attendance times, conduct open-source checks, or attend secondary addresses (e.g., workplaces) to maximise success.

Yes. If you file a sole divorce application in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, your spouse must be served independently. Code Nine manages document proofreading, personal service, and provides both the Affidavit of Service and Acknowledgement of Service required by the court.

At the time of writing (29-12-2024), we boast a 100% success rate. This means that for every file that we have received, we have managed to successfully effect personal service on the defendant, witness, accused person or respondent. Of course, this is not guaranteed as each and every file we receive is unique and poses a range of considerations that may alter the success of a service attempt.
